2011 has come and gone like a flash! I do not know if it went as fast for you as it did me, but, man, how time flies. I am looking forward to the month of February at Cornerstone. As this is the time of year when people make new commitments, I am speaking the whole month of February on the subject of prayer. Prayer needs to be something that is refreshing, exciting and rewarding…….. not boring, grueling and uneventful. My prayer is that I can illuminate the purpose and power of prayer in a relevant way that will bring a fresh perspective on the subject. Look forward to seeing everyone each Sunday.
Blessings,
Pastor Mervin

It is amazing how fast a ten week series passes. It seems like it was just the other day I started preparing the first message “No other God’s” and we are already finished with this series and the first quarter of 2011 !
We have a full month this April with our A-Team meeting on the 3rd, Women’s Retreat on the 9th and our annual church picnic and volleyball tourny on the 17th. It will be May before we know it.
I’m excited to launch our new series “GROW” this Sunday. I have been working on these messages for about a month and believe they are going to produce some real spiritual growth in the willing. This series will lead us up to Easter Sunday for our service entitled “RISE”.
Keep pressing on,
Pastor Mervin

We can all remember Charlton Heston standing on the shore of the Red Sea with the wind blowing through his hair as he parted the ocean in the classic film, “The Ten Commandments”. But does anyone really grasp the meaning of the 10 commandments? For the most part, we look at them as an outdated list of rules that restrict our lives and take all of our fun away. Actually, the purpose of the ten commandments is to put a hedge of protection around our lives and help us fulfill the will of God. For the next ten weeks, I will take each commandment and break it down so we can see the principle behind it and how it applies to our daily life in 2011. I look forward to seeing everyone there.
Blessings,
Pastor Mervin

Hi everyone,
We are just a few days out from the launch of our one month to live campaign. This is going to be a great time of learning and discovery together. I have been asking myself the past few weeks, what would I do if i only had one month to live. I tell you what, it sure does change your perspective on life. If you are a member of Cornerstone, I would like to encourage you to take a little time to visit a friend or family member and share with them about the one month to live campaign. Statistics say that a high percentage of people that are invited to church will actually come! Let’s stand together with this, be pro-active and watch the Lord touch the lives of the people around us.

Hello and welcome, I just wanted to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to our new web page. Alot of new and exciting things have been happening around cornerstone church. Not the least of which is our upcomming series called one month to live, where we will challege everyone to change the way they think and ask themselves “what would I change if I only had 30 days left to live.”
Maybe you would do that one thing always dreamed you would do, or maybe you would make a situation right that you know needs to be corrected. Whatever it is in your life this series will begin to challenge and excite you about God.
Well thats all I have to share right now, but stay tuned as we continue to expand and press into more of what God has for cornerstone. God Loves You,
Pastor Mervin Strother
